Longtime Lordsburg resident Mary Montez Young passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 2, 2016.

Mary was born September 12, 1937 in Lordsburg, New Mexico to Vicente Montez and Bertha Tarazon.

Our mother worked in various occupations in Lordsburg over the years. She was the proud mother of six boys and two girls. Her love and devotion to her children and grandchildren will never be forgotten. Mary is survived by five sons, Gary, Robert, James, Mark and David. She was preceded in death by her son, Ruben; daughters, Julie and Mary Francis; sister, Valentina Montez and husband, Ralph Young.

Cremation has been entrusted to Baca's Silver City Crematory. In honor of our dearest mother, Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 10 o'clock in the morning on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lordsburg with the Funeral Liturgy to follow at 10:30 am. Officiating will be Father Ron Machado. A reception will be held at James H. Baxter Civic Center immediately following. Friends and family are encouraged to attend to celebrate the life of an amazing and incredible woman.
