Pilar AltamiranoPilar Cabrera Altamirano, 87, Deming resident passed away Monday July 4, 2016 at her home.

Pilar was born October 12, 1928 in Ascencion Chihuahua, Mexico to Maria Mier and Manuel Cabrera. She had worked at Border Foods and was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church. Pilar enjoyed gardening and cooking and loved her canary birds and her dog.

Survivors include her husband, Ramon; 4 sons, Ramon Altamirano Jr., Jesus Altamirano, Trinidad Altamirano all of Las Cruces, Manuel Altamirano and wife Lori of Kansas City, Kansas; 3 daughters, Irma Jaurequi and husband Richard, Guillermina Macias and husband Guerrero all of Deming, Theresa Black and husband Greg of Knoxville, Tennessee; brother, Genovevo Cabrera of Ft. Worth, Texas; sister, Concepcion Guzman of Ascencion, Mexico; 16 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Maria Cabrera; 3 sisters and 2 brothers.

Visitation will begin Friday morning July 8, 2016 at 10 o'clock at St. Ann's Catholic Church where the prayer vigil will begin at 11. Mass of the Christian Burial will follow at 12 noon with Fr. Manuel Ibarra, Pastor officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Manny Herrera, Gabriel Macias, Miguel Angel Altamirano, Manny Altamirano Jr., Jesus Altamirano Jr. and Steven Black. Honorary bearers will be Javier Altamirano, Gary Macias, Brendon Black and Christopher Holguin
