Nora Baca rsNora D. Melendrez Baca 92 of Silver City, NM passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at her residence surrounded by a loved one.

Nora was born in Hanover, NM in 1923 to Lucas F. Melendrez and Petra Dominguez.

Nora had a big heart, and shared her unconditional love with everyone around her. Nora was a member of the Saint Vincent De Paul Catholic Church. She was an employee at Benny's Market Basket for several years helping her brother Danny at the store. She also worked at Nina's Guys N Gals downtown Silver City. She was very active, loved to visit with her friends and family. Raised lots of children in the family. Loved to dance, went to the casinos, had a garden and a good hand for planting flowers. She loved to make tamales. Nora will be missed by all who loved her.

She is survived by three sons Jimmie M. Martinez of Westminster, Colorado, Daniel M. Martinez Denver, Colorado, and Charlie J. Martinez (Delia) of Berthoud, Colorado, seventeen grandchildren, several great grandchildren, one brother Mike Melendrez and one sister Catalina "Nina" M. Altamirano both of Silver City, NM.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Jimmy C. Martinez and Antonio P. Baca, two daughters Irene Maestas, Stella Vigil and one son Max M. Martinez, four brothers Abel Melendrez, Ernie Melendrez, Danny Melendrez and Tino Melendrez.

Pallbearers are David Manzano, Daniel Manzano, Jimmy J. Martinez, Robbie J. Martinez, Paul Sanchez, and Chon Manzano.

Interment will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery.
