Anne Marie Simms, a retired RN, was born on April 12, 1944 and died on July 21, 2016. She was attending a Redle family reunion in Sheridan, Wyoming, when she suffered a heart attack and died at a hospital in Billings, Montana. Her family held a memorial service on July 24 in Sheridan, where she was born.

She had been a resident of Gila, NM, since 1996 and was very active in the community. She was a devout Catholic, volunteered for St. Francis Newman Center Parish, and held prayer groups in her home. Over the years she also volunteered for a number of organizations such as the American Red Cross, the Grant County Community Concert Association, the NM CASA advocacy group, St. Francis Associates and others.GǿShe was an avid reader and liked to travel and do needlework; was active in a number of needlework groups including one at her home. She had been a member of Newcomers Club in the past. Anne Marie loved Bridge and attended one or more bridge groups every week. She had a lovely rose garden and grew a large variety of irises in her yard. Anne Marie was a member of Twelve Red Hat Mommas. She loved to entertain and was known for her GǣHigh TeasGǥ at Christmas time every year.

Anne Marie Redle Simms was married to John Simms who died in 2001. She is survived by her son Brent Peter Dodson Sands, his wife and 6 children of Albuquerque, also her sister Susan Liuzzi (Littleton, CO), sister Mary Pat Adams (Rock Springs, WY), and brother Frank Redle (Salt Lake City, UT,). There were also two stepchildren, Brian and Donovon from her marriage to John Simms.

Anne Marie was a sweet and gentle person, fiercely independent and never had an unkind word about any one. She will be greatly missed.

There will be a mass offered for Anne Marie Simms on August 11 at 12 Noon at the Newman Center. All of her friends are invited to attend.
