Lorenza "Lencha" Salas, 87, of Bayard, NM went home with Jesus on Sunday, August 7, 2016 in the comfort of her home with her family by her side.

She was born September 20, 1928 in Santa Rita, NM to Juan Valerio and Maria Alaniz Valerio.

She was a woman of great faith. She loved her Virgen De Guadalupe with all she had and assured her adoration was passed on to her generations to follow.

"Lencha" was married to Felix M. Salas in 1946. Together they raised four children. She was a passionate woman who assured anyone who walked through her door was fed. She loved music and had a special place in her heart for her grand and great- grandchildren. "Nana" as her grandchildren called her will be dearly missed; but her memory will never be forgotten.

She is survived by her three sons, Felix V. Salas (Dorothy) of Bayard; Charles V. Salas and companion Rebecca of Arenas Valley; Jerry V. Salas (Roxane) of Bayard; one daughter, Patsy Sanchez (Henry) of Bayard; daughter-in-law, Edna Salas; twelve grandchildren, Charlie, Veronica, Odette, Irma, Linda, Amy, Jessica, Lisette, Amber, Zach, Isaiah, Mary and Amber; fourteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Consuelo Salas of Bayard.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Felix M. Salas ('09); five brothers, Anastacio, Frank, Felipe, Robert and Rudy Valerio; two sisters, Juanita Salas and Ramona Morales.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 11 from 5-6pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the prayer vigil and holy rosary to begin at 6pm with Dr. Gilbert Arizaga reciting. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, August 12 at 9:30am at Infant Jesus Shrine concelebrated by Father Roberto Barreto officiating. Concluding service an interment will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Zach, Isaiah, Andrew and Charlie Salas, Joe Shanks, Chris Quezada, Henry De La Garza, Joseph Woods and Reyne Maynes.
