Monica Louise "Mo" Giacomelli Oldham, 69, of Silver City, NM passed away Monday, August 8, 2016 at her residence.

Monica was born in Durango, Colorado.

Monica had a quick wit with an amazing sense of humor and she absolutely loved to cook. She was an admired mentor during her long career as a nurse in labor and delivery. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepard. Her home was a safe haven for children from the class 1986 and on.

She is survived by her son Justin Oldham, (Erin), daughter Yvette Cooke (David), five grandchildren Dakota, Matthew, Triston, Aaron, and Cameron, one great grandson Draven, cousins Jim Shock, Roger Crosley, and Anita Giacomelli Jennings, and a sister in law Julie Maben (Johnny).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis C Giacomelli and E Charlene Naples, her baby daughter and her husband Gary Oldham.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Bright Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Congestive Heart Failure Association. A celebratory of her life will be open to her family and friends at her residence this Friday, August 12, from 12:00 noon to 4:00.
