Elvira Josephine Estrada, born August 27, 1944, passed away on August 12, 2016 in Deming, NM surrounded by family in their home.

She worked and retired from Mountain Bell Telephone Company, and thereafter worked 25 years as the Chief Communications Officer for the City of Deming. No matter how long the workday, how dark the night, sick or well, her mantra was "I'm Fine."

Her greatest joy was her family; she worked tirelessly and succeeded in raising Strong Women and Good Men in her home. She was the mother of Thomas, James, and Dolores; she brought into her family Billie, Adrian, and Katy. Grandmother to Alayna, Sarah Jo, Anthony, Lucky, Ryan, Rachel, and Cori.

In lieu of flowers or donations, a personal remembrance is all that is requested.

Some called her Josie, others called her Vera. All who knew her called her Friend. We call her "Mom."

As per her wishes no services will take place.

Cremation was entrusted to Baca's Mimbres Crematory.
