Marta Carrasco Flores, 79, a resident of Las Cruces, NM formerly of Hurley, NM entered eternal rest Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Mt. View Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces, NM.

She was born July 31, 1937 in Whitewater, NM to Arcadio Leon Carrasco and Lupe Leon.

She had a sense of humor. She was funny and always laughing. She was a great cook; her favorite dish was chicken mole. She loved to go shopping and play bingo. She was a strong willed person, very independent.

She is survived by one son, Bernardo Carrasco Flores of Bayard; two daughters, Gail F. Padilla and husband Victor of Bayard; Irma Luna of Santa Clara; eight granddaughters, Sonia, Valerie, Melanie, Christy, Delilah, Vanessa, Angelina and Aurora; two grandsons, Juan Vicente and Pablo; and many great grandchildren; two sisters, Josefina Valenzuela and Dora Carrasco Flores; favorite niece, Pattie McMican Canington and husband Jim of Forth worth, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her ex-husband Benny V. Flores ('08); two sons, Pablo and Vicente Horcasitas; four brothers, Arcadio Leon Carrasco Jr., Henry Leon Carrasco, Salvador Leon Carrasco and Richard Leon Carrasco; three sisters, Lily Leon Coral, Connie Carrasco Pomerinke and Ariel Leon Carrasco.

Visitation will be Friday, September 16 from 10-11am at Terrazas Funeral Chapels. The funeral liturgy will follow at 12 noon at Infant Jesus Shrine in Hurley, NM. Concluding service an interment will follow at Hurley Cemetery.
