Blackmon Prince rsBlackmon Prince, Jr., 72, Deming resident passed away Monday September 12, 2016 at his home.

Blackmon was born May 19, 1944 in Las Cruces to Virginia Coleman and Blackmon Prince Sr. He served his country honorably in the United States Army. Blackmon worked for the mines in Santa Rita and was a former member of the JC's. Blackmon loved boxing, enjoyed being with his family and friends and traveled to see his kids and grandchildren. His pastimes were playing dominos, bowling and reading.

Survivors include 7 sons, Blackmon "Tercero" Prince III, of Las Vegas, NV, Carlos Prince and wife, Margaret of Fairfield, CA, Sean Prince of San Diego, CA, Jamar Prince and wife Chelsea of Cedar Ridge, TX, Jamin Prince of Duncan, OK, Adam Palmer and wife Jesica, Juan Contreras all of Deming; 4 daughters, Patricia Prince of Deming, Frances Thomas-Lee of Chula Vista, CA, Eloisa "Tootsie" Prince of Round Rock, TX, Shawna Flores of Deming; 3 step-children, Tommy Williams and wife Tammy of Alamogordo, Heather Arroyos, Nickie Williams both of Deming; 4 brothers, Colonius "Pee Wee" Newton, Jimmy Jerome Jordan both of Deming, Lelton Darrell Jordan of Desoto, TX, Michael Prince of Oakland, CA; 2 sisters, Virginia Ann Edwards of Deming, Faye Prince of Emeryville, CA; 22 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia Coleman and Blackmon Prince Sr., 3 brothers, Eric Jordan, Thurman Jordan, Blackmon Prince Jr. and sister-in-law, Faye Newton.

A memorial service will be held Saturday September 17, 2016 at 1 o'clock in the afternoon at the Ninth Street Church of Christ with Pastor Charles Prince officiating.
