Linda Marie Hutto, 58, of Silver City, NM passed peacefully in her home with her husband at her side, on November 12, 2016 from complications of ALS.

Linda had a very good life. Born in Breese, Illinois, she loved to play the accordion as a young child. She attended Catholic school in Carlyle, Illinois and grew up on a farm outside Carlyle. In junior high, the family moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona. She was a high school cheerleader for the boys wrestling team and was a top student in her graduating class. She attended two years of college at Northern Arizona University where she was a math major.

She met her husband Joe, while attending NAU and they married in August 1978. Linda and her husband moved to Silver City in 1981 where she started as a bookkeeper for Tatsch Construction. A quick learner with a keen mind for calculations, Linda moved from bookkeeping, to estimating, to project management, and then to part ownership with Dink Tatsch and Richard Rogers. Their synergy of 30 years developed the local construction company into a competitive and reputable firm statewide in public works projects. She retired in 2014 to embark on new creative endeavors. Linda was a lifelong learner and had an infectious giggle that made everyone in the room laugh. Over the many years Linda enjoyed horseback riding in the wilderness, scuba diving, traveling, knitting, and jewelry making. But most of all, Linda and Joe enjoyed making memories with their friends and family with gatherings, dinners, and drinks. Linda was known among her family and friends as an impeccable cook and baker who always prepared an abundance of great food to serve her invited guests and those who happened to stop by. Linda enjoyed creating a variety of ethnic foods, playing with spices, and the challenge of adapting recipes to suit her friends with vegetarian or food-allergy requirements in addition to her more selective eaters.

Linda is survived by her loving husband, Robert J. (Joe) Hutto, her mother Rita M. Grahmann (Haas) of Salt Lake City, UT, her brother Charles J. Grahmann and wife Eileen (Reilly) of Salt Lake City, UT, niece Bridget Parsons (Grahmann) and nephew Jacob Grahmann, both of Salt Lake City, her sister-in-law Julie Grahmann (Wender) of Chandler, AZ and niece Patricia Grahmann and nephew Robert Grahmann of Chandler, AZ. Linda is preceded in death by her father Charles Robert Grahmann and her youngest brother James William Grahmann.
