Clorinda Garcia rsClorinda J. Garcia, 82, a former resident of Bayard, NM who later resided in Silver City with her daughter, entered eternal rest Friday, December 2, 2016 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born September 25, 1934 in Santa Clara to Cruz Rae Jimenez and Quiteria Alirez.

Clorinda was very artistic. She loved crocheting, cooking and gardening.

She is survived by two daughters, Viola Acosta and husband Anthony of Las Cruces; Elizabeth Garcia Lopez and husband Michael of Silver City; ten grandchildren, Jeannette Acosta, Athena Acosta, Anthony "Bubba" Acosta, Manuel Trevizo, Lawrence Trevizo and wife April, Veronica Trevizo, Patrick "Mikie" Cohn Jr. and wife Desiree, Eric Cohn, Felicia Valencia and husband Josh, Allen Duran and wife Lexie; twenty-four great-grandchildren; four brothers, Frank Jimenez of Raton, NM; Albert "Bertie" Jimenez and wife Martha of Bayard; Julian Jacquez and wife Rita of Hurley; Jesse Jimenez and wife Ernestina of Bayard; three sisters, Isabel "Chavela" Chip and husband Henry of Hesperia, CA; Virginia Apodaca and husband Joe of Santa Clara; Leonila Jacquez Quintana of Las Vegas, NV.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Ramon M. Garcia ('85); one daughter, Angelita "Angie" Murillo Trevizo (2010).

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 7 from 5-6 pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the prayer vigil and holy rosary to begin at 6 pm with Deacon Art Gutierrez reciting. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated Thursday, December 8 at 9:30 am at St. Francis Newman Center with Father Jarek officiating. Concluding service an interment will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her husband.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Patrick M. Cohn Jr., Eric Ray Cohn, Allen Michael Duran, Anthony "Bubba" Acosta, Manuel and Lawrence Trevizo. Honorary pallbearers will be the rest of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
