Minnie Parra rsMinnie Parra, 85, of Silver City passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Gila Regional Medical Center.

Minnie was born on January 1, 1931 in Santa Clara, NM to Ramon Alires and Rufina Parra. She was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Minnie enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping and being in the outdoors. She loved to cook, bake and spending time with her family and friends, but her greatest joy were her children and grandchildren. Minnie will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Minnie is survived by her sons Richard Vasquez and Danny Parra (Connie); a daughter Mary Helen South (Don); one sister, Magdalena Garcia (Florencio); three grandchildren, Angela South, Joseph Parra and Candace Parra; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Eloy in 2013, first husband, Juan M. Vasquez and parents Ramon and Rufina Alires.

Visitation will be on Monday, December 12, 2016 from 4 - 6pm at Baca's Funeral Chapels in Silver City. The Prayer Vigil and Rosary will be on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 9:30 in the morning at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, officiated by Deacon Jerry Bustillos. The Funeral Liturgy will immediately follow at 10 o' clock in the morning at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Father Oliver Obele will officiate. Cremation will follow and inurnment will take place on Wednesday December 14, 2016 at 11 o'clock in the morning at Fort Bayard National Cemetery.
