Maria Moreno, 86, a resident of Lordsburg, NM entered eternal rest Thursday, December 8, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Maria was born on April 22, 1930 in Lordsburg, NM to Ysidro and Maria Rodriguez.

Maria was known to her family and friends as 'Cuca'. She was a loving, strong and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, always putting her family first and would go out of her way to do anything for them.

She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, she was their number one fan, always traveling back and forth to their games. One of her favorite passtimes was traveling with her family.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Ann Gomez and husband David of Lordsburg, NM; two sisters, Barbara Mora of Alabama and Teresa Nevaro of California; five grandchildren, Leigh Ann (Benjie) Chavez, David Gomez Jr. (Jessica), Carl Richardson, Suzette Dunn, and Heather Allen; thirteen great-grand children, Micayla, Averie, Hailio, Caius, Rylee, Christina, Maria, CJ, Kaleb, Josh, Courtney, Brent and Johanna; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Miguel "Mike" Moreno in 2012; her parents, Ysidro and Maria Rodriguez; two daughters, Anita Burwell and Abby Allen; two brothers, Jesus and Robert Rodriguez; and four sisters, Reyes Lopez, Francisca Sanchez, Lupe Rodriguez and Ramona Bolaga.

Visitation will be Wednesday December 14th at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lordsburg from 5-6 pm with the prayer vigil and holy rosary beginning at 6 pm and Belinda Chavez reciting. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday December 15th at 10 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Fr. Jude Okonkwo officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
