Alfonso MolinaAlfonso M. Molina, 85, a resident of Santa Clara, NM entered eternal rest Thursday, December 15, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born January 4, 1931 in Hanover, NM to Simon Molina and Celia Melendrez.

Mr. Molina proudly joined the Marine Corp at the age of 18 and retired after 22 years of service. He fought in Korea and did two tours in Vietnam.

After retiring from the Marine Corp. he worked for Honeywell for ten years.

He moved back to Grant County and married Rosalie in 2001.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rosalie R. Molina of the family home; three step-sons, Jacob Rodriguez of Wisconsin; Jason Rodriguez of Santa Clara; Johnathon Rodriguez of Santa Fe; nine grandchildren, Brittany, Marisa, Elijah, John, Alma, Jade, Jakey, Ella and Selena; one great-grandson, Tavares; six brothers, Eddie Molina and wife Lupe of Phoenix, AZ; David Molina of Phoenix; Mike Molina and wife Mika of Phoenix; Elias Molina and wife Dee of Phoenix; Ralph Molina and wife Sally of Phoenix; Simon Molina and wife Regina of AZ; four sisters, Margaret Ross of Phoenix, AZ; Celia Molina of Phoenix; Sister Maria of Phoenix and Carmen Woods of Albuquerque; special brother-in-law, John Paul Rodriguez.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 22 at 8:30-9:30 am at Santa Clara Catholic Church with the prayer vigil and holy rosary to begin at 9:30 am with Deacon Richard Rodriguez reciting. The funeral liturgy will follow at 10 am at Santa Clara Catholic Church with Father Robert Becerra officiating.

Concluding service an interment will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery with full military honors.

Pallbearers will be Jason, Isaiah, Rodrigo, and David Rodriguez, Rodrigo Rodriguez Jr. and Jeremy Padilla.
