Rodofo Marquez rsRodolfo O. Marquez, 86, a resident of Bayard passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at his family home surrounded by his loving family.

Rodolfo was born on April 7, 1930 in Santa Rita, NM to Cruz O. Marquez. He was a loving husband, wonderful son, excellent father, caring grandfather, great uncle and an amazing friend. Rodolfo loved the outdoors, fly fishing, tying flies, hunting and camping. He enjoyed sports and was a baseball pitcher. He loved watching baseball, football and boxing. He was excited when he got to see the Chicago Cubs win the World Series. He also enjoyed working at Kennecott Copper Mines. To our family, he was known as "Tio Guerro" and "Guerro" to his friends.

Rodolfo is survived by his wonderful sweetheart and wife of 67 years Emma Macias Marquez; sister, Hortencia Grijalva; his son, Rudy M. Marquez; his daughter, Diana M. Miranda and husband Armando; six grandchildren Maxine R. Marquez and husband Rodel Rodriguez, Rudy A. Marquez III, Abie, Fabian, Danny and Steven Miranda; seven great-grandchildren, Rayzhine, Chantel, Ian, Danae, D'zhyre, Alleana and Rochelle. Rodolfo had a huge family with numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, in-laws and friends. He always took care of his family and loved being with his grandchildren.

Rodolfo was preceded in death by his mother Cruz Marquez, his brothers, Ramon and Manuel Marquez; his sisters, Mercedes Saenz, Belen Nevarez and Maria Marquez; granddaughter, baby Maxine A. Marquez.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 from 4-5pm, followed by the Funeral Service at 5 o'clock in the evening at Baca's Funeral Chapels in Silver City. Cremation will take place. Concluding service and burial of his cremated remains will take place on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at 10 o'clock in the morning at the Hurley Cemetery in Hurley, NM. Officiating will be Manuel Marquez.

Rodolfo wanted all his friends and family to be his honorary pallbearers. Rodolfo or "Tio Guerro" will be missed, but his memory will last with us forever.
