Joe Apodaca rsJose "Joe" Francisco Apodaca, 66, a resident of Santa Clara, NM. entered eternal rest on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Gila Regional Medical Center, a loving husband and father who passed peacefully surrounded by his family and many friends.

He was born October 12, 1950 to Andres Apodaca and Sofia Telles Apodaca.

Joe was known to many as "JoJo," "Inspector," "Pops," and "Hardworking 44 shovel".

He really enjoyed providing for his family, friends, and co-workers in gathering to bring everyone together at home, lake, camping, hunting, going down the river, and watching football - especially his Redskins team.

He was a hardworking, honest, and funny man who wanted to see a smile on everyone's face. He was a Cursillista and loved making his home and yard a place of tranquility.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 yrs, Virginia Apodaca of the family home; two sons, Joe Arthur Apodaca and wife Helen of Santa Clara; Isaac James Apodaca and wife Tanya of Morenci, AZ and Bruce Carbajal and wife Yvette of Santa Clara who he loved like a son and daughter; two daughters, Yvonne Apodaca of Santa Clara; Cynthia Jo Apodaca of Phoenix, AZ; fourteen grandchildren, Brianna, Nathan, Isaac, Danny, Alexandra, Destiny, Caasi; Asiah, Jordin, Arthur (Beatrice), Sam (Jessica), Jazmine, Kim, and Matthew who were loved like his grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, Arthur, Aidan, Alayna, Niko, Sam and Jeremiah; two brothers, Nate Apodaca and wife Melva of Los Lunas, NM; Andy Apodaca of Santa Clara; one uncle, Cristobal and wife Dora; one aunt, Elisia Trujillo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two godchildren, Zai Baca, and Steven Jimenez.

Visitation will be Monday, January 9 from 5 - 6 pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the prayer vigil and holy rosary to begin at 6 pm with Deacon Richard Rodriguez reciting. The funeral liturgy will be Tuesday, January 10 at 10 am at Santa Clara Catholic Church with Father Robert Becerra officiating. Concluding service interment will follow at Santa Clara cemetery.
