Betty Lou Weber rsBetty Lou Weber, 90, Deming resident passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Sierra Medical Center in El Paso.

Betty Lou was born October 17, 1926 to Mary Beeman and John Weber Sr. in Monessep, Pennsylvania.

She was a registered nurse for 45 years working in Spokane, WA at McKeesport Hospital and was Nursing Supervisor for Hillcrest General and Gila Regional Hospital in Silver City. In Deming, she was Ward Nurse and ER Nurse for Mimbres Memorial Hospital until her retirement in 1988. Betty Lou was a member of the First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. She enjoyed knitting, crochet, reading and puzzle books.

She is survived by daughter, Donna Olmsted and husband Norman of Deming; brother, Charles Weber; 3 grandchildren, John Frederick Cathey and wife Roxanne of Austin, TX, Steven Chad Cathey and wife Trisha of Surprise, AZ, Chester Jay Cathey and wife Brittney of Ft. Leonard, MO; 5 great-grandchildren, Celina Arvilla, Christian, Austin Dean, Jayme Leann and Ryan Jay Cathey; and 1 great-great-grandchild Emry Arvilla.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Weber; brothers, John Weber Jr and Frederick Weber.

A memorial service will be this Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 10 o'clock in the morning at Baca's Funeral Chapel with Dr. Robert Hamilton officiating, Pastor of First Baptist Church. Concluding services and inurnment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Cremation has been entrusted to Baca's Mimbres Crematory.
