Luis Lopez rsLuis R. Lopez, 89, loving Father, Grandfather, Uncle, and Friend passed away peacefully at home Thursday, January 26, 2017.

Our loving Father was called home to join his wife one day prior to the 10th anniversary of her death.

Luis was a communicant of Infant Jesus Shrine with a strong devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

He was a veteran serving in the Armed Forces for two years.

Mr. Lopez was a strong follower of the Cobre Indians. He was identified as a "Superfan" by his attendance at all sporting events. Rain, snow, wind, or hail could not keep him away.

Our Father was a loving, caring strong man of few words yet his love was very apparent through his life of service to others. For more than 25 years he volunteered at Ft. Bayard Medical Center. There he assisted his two sisters Susie and Jovita and patients during Bingo transporting to mass and for haircuts. More importantly our Father gave of his time and love while sitting alongside the patients in quiet conversation. Our dad will be greatly missed as he developed a multitude of loving friendships through his journey of life.

Luis is survived by one son, Luis H. Lopez and wife Maria Elena of Silver City; three daughters, Sylvia Medrano and husband David of Santa Clara; Rosemary Gutierrez and husband Arthur of Hurley; Grace Garcia and husband Ren+
