Ramon "Monie" Polanco Ortega, 62 of Silver City, NM passed away Tuesday January 31, 2017 at his residence.

Ramon was born in Silver City, New Mexico to Manuel R. Ortega and Ciria Polanco Sanchez Ortega.

Ramon enjoyed watching Boxing, UFC, Western Movies, reading Western stories, and listening to Spanish Music and Oldies. He enjoyed the outdoors hunting, fishing, shooting pool and he was a New Orleans Saints Fan. Ramon will be missed by all who knew him.

Ramon is survived by his son Steven Ray Ortega of Silver City, New Mexico and his two grandchildren Steven Ray Ortega Jr. and Cristian Damien Ortega of Silver City, New Mexico. His sisters Corrine Ortega of Silver City, New Mexico, Mary Lou Ortega (Jr. Reyes) of Las Cruces, New Mexico, his companion Toni Padilla of Silver City, New Mexico and Stepdaughters Jessica and Katrina of Silver City, New Mexico. He was loved by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Ramon is preceded in death by his father Manuel R Ortega, Mother Ciria Polanco Sanchez Ortega, Brother's Manuel "June" Ortega and Rudy Ortega.

A visitation will be Tuesday February 6, 2017 at St. Francis Newman Center at 9 am, Rosary will be recited at 10 am and Funeral Mass to Follow.
