Ismael Jiminez rsIsmael "Smiley" V. Jimenez, 59, a resident of Santa Clara, NM entered eternal rest Monday, February 20, 2017 at his residence.

He was born October 19, 1957 in Carlsbad, NM to Julio Jimenez and Elia Vasquez Jimenez.

Mr. Jimenez worked as a truck driver for Freeport McMoran. He loved hunting, fishing, going to the casinos and playing Chuzzle on the computer. He was an avid Viking fan.

He was survived by his parents, one son, Jason Jimenez and wife Annette of Arenas Valley; one daughter, Amy Jimenez of Las Cruces; his companion, Lupe Wilkey of Silver City; seven grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Krenik, and Bailee Jameson; Alex, Brianna and Brooklyn Valdespino; Ian and Chase Jimenez; four brothers, Roy Jimenez (Vicky) of Ruidoso, NM; Julio Jimenez Jr., (Evelyn) of Silver City; Manuel Jimenez (Rose) of Bayard; Armando Jimenez of Santa Clara; four sisters, Priscilla Diaz (David) of Hurley; Barbara Jimenez-Duncan (Wayne) of Santa Clara; Mary Ann Telles (Oscar) of Las Cruces; Rosa Clokey (Rodney) of Clarksville, AR; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Jimenez-Lee (2013) his brother, Ramon Jimenez.

Visitation will be Friday, February 24 from 5 - 6 p.m. at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the prayer vigil and holy rosary to begin at 6 p.m. with Deacon Richard Rodriguez reciting. The funeral liturgy will be Saturday, February 25 at 10 a.m. at Santa Clara Catholic Church with Father Robert Becerra officiating. Concluding service an interment will follow at the Santa Clara cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Roy Jimenez, Julio Jimenez Jr., Manuel Jimenez, Armando Jimenez, Oscar Telles, Rodney Clokey, Manuel Carrasco, and Carlos Medran. Honorary pallbearers will be Ivan, Regan, Chan, Ramon Jimenez, Opie and Isaiah Telles, Juan and Jose Arredondo, Alex Valdespino, Ian and Chase Jimenez, Erujn Clokey, Roy Jimenez Jr., and Armando Jimenez Jr.
