Demecio P. Torrez, 84, a resident of Santa Clara, NM entered eternal rest Friday, March 3, 2017 at Fort Bayard Medical Center.

He was born October 31, 1932 in Gila, NM to Paz Torrez and Delfina Placencio Torrez.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64-+ yrs., Manuela O. Torrez of the family home; four sons, Pete O. Torrez and wife Susie of Silver City; Demecio O. Torrez and wife Diane of Hurley; Pat O. Torrez of Tucson, AZ; Patrick A. Torrez and wife Jacqueline of Tucson, AZ; one daughter, Wanda Ronquillo and husband Dave of Tucson, AZ; nine grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren; two brothers, Celestino (Josephina)Torrez of Hayden, AZ; Bentio Torrez and companion Toni of Gila, NM; sister-in-law, Anita Torrez of Tucson, AZ; and the de Luna family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Armando Torrez; two brothers, Lorenzo and Paz Torrez Jr.; four sisters, Anselma Polanco, Christina Leyba, Martha Estrada and Gregoria Carbajal.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 8 at 5 - 6 pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the prayer vigil and holy rosary to begin at 6 pm with Deacon Richard Rodriguez reciting. The funeral liturgy will be Thursday, March 9 at 10am at Santa Clara Catholic Church with Father Robert Becerra officiating. Concluding services interment will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery with full military honors.

Pallbearers will be Pete Torrez, Demecio Torrez Jr., Pat Torrez, Patrick Torrez, Benito Torres, Julian Flores, Jay Ronquillo and Jerry De Luna. Honorary pallbearers will be all his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and David Ronquillo.
