Coop Stailey rsRobert Dean "Coop" Stailey, 89 of Silver City, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Fort Bayard Medical Center.

"Coop" as he was affectionately known, was born January 7, 1928 in Riverside, New Mexico to Orson and Clarabell (Lee) Stailey. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. "Coop" had worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years in the construction industry.

He is survived by one son, Kenneth D. Stailey (Susan) of Deming, NM; one daughter, Ruby Deannie Luera (William) of Silver City, NM; one brother, Rex Stailey (Marina) of Show Low, AZ; four grandchildren, James Stailey, Kourtney Stailey (Mike Jaure), William R. Luera (Lorena), and Jessica Bouchard (Vincent); also surviving "Coop" are five great grandchildren, Mike Albert Jaure, William R. Luera Jr., Chevelle Luera, Avigayil Bouchard, and Lyon Bouchard. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Candace Stailey, two brothers, Alma and Wilford Stailey, and three sisters, Priscilla Newsom, Florene Villarreal, and Georgia Bell Matthews.

Cremation has been entrusted to Baca's Funeral Chapels. A private family service will be held at a later date.
