Ruth Mary and Ansel PerkinsRuth Mary Perkins, formerly of Silver City, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017 in Gainesville, Virginia.

Ruth was born February 2, 1926 in Tiffin, Ohio.

She was the daughter of Anthony and Rose (Westrich) Schreiner. She married Ansel (Andy) Perkins on June 7, 1947, in Battle Creek, Michigan.

She is survived her daughter, Marianne Beel, of Cannon City, Colorado; her son, Gary Perkins, of Gainesville, Virginia; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years; her parents; and sister, Marcella Kaiser.

Ruth was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Wife and Friend. She touched countless lives through her positive attitude and zest for life - she was a good friend to so many and will be missed by all.

A Funeral Service will be held at Bright Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 10:00 am; interment and inurnment of Ansel Perkins to follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery.
