Eulalia was born at Bonner Springs, KS on November 5, 1925 to George and Hattie Limbocker Railsback and they moved in 1926 to Manhattan, KS. Eulalia grew up in Manhattan, graduated from high school there and then went to school at Kansas State College (as it was known at that time). She graduated with a BS degree in zoology but with an art minor, her real interest. She taught art for one year in Grand Island, NE.

In June of 1948 she married Eugene Lewis whom she had known since first grade but hadn't dated until he returned from service in WWII. She and Eugene had three children.
They lived 14 years in Keats, KS, eight miles west of Manhattan, before his work took the family to Topeka, KS.

Eulalia got interested in weaving and took art courses at Washburn University in Topeka. She created textile wall hangings for 13 years, with some pieces being very large and located in various businesses in Topeka.

She did some teaching, including substituting. In 1978 she received a BFA degree, this time from Washburn University.

In 1991 she and Eugene moved to Silver City and have remained here all these years. After years of traveling various places around the world the time to settle down brought opportunities with the local Audubon, Native Plant Society, Town and Country Garden Club, Silver City Museum, MRAC, American Association of University Women (AAUW) and attending WILL classes.

She is survived by her husband, Eugene of the family home; their children, Paul Lewis, and wife Nancy of Santa Fe; Timothy Lewis and wife Lori of near Silva, NC; Deborah Walker and husband James of Santa Fe; grandchildren, Jonathan Lewis of Albuquerque, and Kachina Walker of Santa Fe.

Her only sibling was an older sister who died a few years ago.
