George A. Cobos, 51, resident of Deming passed away Saturday April 1, 2017 at Mimbres Memorial Hospital.

George was born February 22, 1966 in Deming to Leopoldo and Adelina (Torres) Cobos. He graduated from Deming High School in 1985 and shortly thereafter he entered the United States Marine Corps. Upon his release from the Marines George went to work with the Arizona Corrections Department in Yuma, Arizona in 1990. He retired from there in 2010 and in October of that year he returned to Deming. Locally he was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, was an officer of the Loyal Order of Moose, and had also worked at Starmax for some time. Family and friends will always remember how much he loved karaoke and the Dallas Cowboys.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia L. Cobos of Deming; his mother, Adelina Cobos of Deming; daughter, Breann Cobos of Yuma, AZ; sister, Barbara Torres Dominguez (Pete Jr.) of Deming; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Leopoldo Cobos.

Visitation will be Friday morning, April 7, 2017 at 9 o'clock at St. Ann Catholic Church where a prayer vigil will begin at 10 o'clock led by Cristina Milo. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 o'clock with Fr. Manuel Ibarra, Pastor officiating. Concluding services with honors will follow at Mt. View Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Gilbert Torres, Raymond Soliz, Benny Torres Jr., Hector Perez, Angel Borrego, and Eric Caballero.
