Margaret "Peg" Kendrick Clancy Atchison 86 of Silver City, New Mexico passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017 at her residence.

Margaret was born June 2, 1930 in Ashtabula, Ohio. Her parents were Joseph Hugh and Ima Mildred Carr Kendrick.

Margaret attended Mooreland High School in Mooreland, Indiana, Elkhart Business University, Elkhart, Indiana, and Western New Mexico University.

Margaret and her husband Hal, moved from Downey, California to Silver City in 1973 where Hal owned and operated The Bicycle Shop on Hwy 180.

She was employed by Southwestern NM Services to Handicapped, SWSH, now known as Life Quest, for 25 years, as Administrator, Sec. and as Coordinator of Early Childhood Program.

In 2000 she and Hal relocated to Luna, NM where they built a log home, a long time dream. In 2007 Hal passed away and she sold the log home and returned to Silver City.

She enjoyed outdoor activities with Hal, two backpack trips to bottom of Grand Canyon, a raft trip on San Juan River and ten day back trip in Gila Wilderness.

She was a quilter and enjoyed watercolor and oil painting.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Presbyterian Church in Alpine, Arizona where she served as Deacon and Elder.

She is survived by her son Dr. Sean P. Clancy of Los Alamos and daughter Debra Clancy Ackerman of Las Cruces, NM, granddaughters Ashley Ackerman of Mesquite, NM and Dr. Chloe L. Ackerman of Beaverton, Oregon, brother Hugh M. Kendrick and his wife Jodelle of Mooreland, Indiana and beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, C.T. Clancy Jr. and H. T. (Hal) Atchison and sister Joanne Ramirez.

A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the First Presbyterian Church at 2:00pm. Interment will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery.
