Petra Elvira "Vera" Moreno Chacon, 94, a resident of Mimbres, NM entered eternal rest Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Gila Regional Medical Center.

She was born February 23, 1923 to Julian and Anicasia Moreno in Fierro, NM.

She is survived by her daughter, Yolanda Chacon-Valle (Andres) of Las Cruces; one son, Ramon "Ray" Chacon of Mimbres; two granddaughters, Michelle Jacquez Lopez (Alex) of Las Vegas, NV; Gina Chacon Rodriguez (Gary) of North Hurley; five great-grandchildren, Cynthia, Alexis, Alex Jr., Augustine Lopez; G.J. and Zynasia Rodriguez; one sister, Juana Moreno Sierra; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Julian and Anicasia Mani-Moreno; her husband, Augustine Chacon ('10); two brothers, Lorenzo, and Melcadez Moreno; two sisters, Lola Mani Garcia, and Ygnacia Chavez (Nacha).

Visitation will be Thursday, May 4th 5-6pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the holy rosary to begin at 6 p.m. with Dr. Gilbert Arizaga reciting. The funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, May 5 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church with Father Abraham Soliz officiating. Concluding service an interment will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Alex Moreno, Alex Lopez Sr., Alex Lopez Jr., Jose Sierra, Gary Rodriguez, G.J. Rodriguez Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Gaspar Moreno, Tommy Ryan Sr., Gilbert Rodriguez Jr., John Harvey.
