Samuel Garcia, 79, of Santa Clara passed away on May 7, 2017 at Providence Memorial Hospital in El Paso, TX

Sam was born October 19, 1937 in Grant County to Sam and Severa (Parra) Garcia. He was married to his beloved wife Dolores Garcia for 37 years. Sam worked as an accomplished Graphic Printer for many years. He served his country honorably in the United States Army, 10th Mountain Division and also played trumpet in the United States
Army Band. He enjoyed music, photography, road trips and life in general. Sam will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Sam is survived by his loving wife, Dolores; son George Garcia; daughter Marlene Pennell, (Keith); step-son Patrick Newman; stepson Dale Newman (Debra) and their daughter Blair Dawn; grandsons Daniel Lerma (Deanna), and Jonathan Lerma; granddaughters, Priscilla Lerma and Julieanna Lerma. Also surviving Sam are four great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.

Cremation has been entrusted to Baca's Funeral Chapels. A memorial service will be held at 12:30in the afternoon on Friday, May 12, 2017 at Baca's Funeral Chapel. Concluding services and burial will be at 2 o'clock in the afternoon on Friday, May 12, 2017 at Fort Bayard National Cemetery. Officiating will be Deacon Bill Holguin.
