Marian F. Altuna, 95, formerly of Lordsburg passed away peacefully, at Villa de Hope, in Tucson, Arizona.

Marian was born September 6, 1921 in Orange County, California to Inocente and Estefana (Torres) Fierro. At a young age Marian moved to Lordsburg with her family and made Lordsburg her home. She worked and retired from the New Mexico Motor Vehicle Department. She and her husband, Art, who preceded her in death in 2009, enjoyed traveling and dancing. Marian was a member of the Catholic Church and loved colorful flowers.

Marian is survived by one daughter, Beverley Altuna Lopez of Tucson AZ; three sons, JR Altuna of Las Cruces, NM; Sidney Altuna (Becky) of Phoenix, AZ; and Ronnie Altuna of Victoria, TX. Also surviving Marian are her ten grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Besides her husband Art, she was also preceded in death by a son Jaime Altuna and a son-in-law, Richard Lopez.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at nine o'clock in the morning on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lordsburg, 416 E. 2nd Street. The Funeral Liturgy will immediately follow at nine-thirty. The Rite of Committal and Burial will follow at The Shakespeare Cemetery in Lordsburg. Officiating will be Fr. Jude Okonkwo.

Serving as pallbearers will be Andres, Ricardo and Derric Lopez, and Michael, Dino and Marc Altuna. Honorary bearers will be Gabe Donaldson, Alec Lopez, Ed Morgan and Joe Sanchez.
