Susan Gale Williams, age 54, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Santa Clara, New Mexico on May 12, 2017.

Susan was born Feb. 15, 1963 in Paoli, Indiana to Cleo and Gladys Buerckley.

Susan worked in many fields over the years, most recently running her house cleaning business.

Susan was an avid NASCAR fan and spent many hours with her longtime companion Tim McLain enjoying the sport. She was an avid reader, loved bears of all kinds, and enjoyed spending time with her son James and daughter-in-law Amanda and their two children.

She enjoyed spending time with Tim's mother, Barbara McLain, going shopping, eating out and working on arts and crafts together. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors hiking, and exploring the sites in New Mexico with her sister Etta and her husband Steve when they would get together. Susan was a wonderful sister, mother, grandmother, longtime companion to Tim and friend to many. She will be missed greatly by all who knew her and loved her. Gone but never forgotten.

Susan is survived by her son, James (Amanda) MacIver of Arenas Valley, New Mexico, her longtime companion, Tim McLain of Santa Clara, New Mexico, three sisters, Ruthann (David) Laws of Marengo, Indiana, Etta (Steve) Rhynard of Tucson, Arizona, Julie Buerckley of San Diego, California, one brother, Austin Buerckley of Sedona, Arizona. She is also survived by four half-sisters, Rita (James) Shackelford of Long Beach, California, Vickey Trainer of Ames, Iowa, Dorothy Hobbs of Louisiana and Peggy Ramsey of Des Moines, Iowa. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and two grandchildren.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Cleo and Gladys Buerckely, two half-brothers, George Hobbs and Mike Hobbs, and one half sister, Becky Buerckley.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Terrazas Funeral Chapel at 1 Fort Bayard Road, Santa Clara, New Mexico (575) 537-0777.

Cremation has taken place at Terrazas Crematory.
