Federico Rodriguez rsFederico R. Rodriguez "Whip" as he was affectionately known, 83, of San Lorenzo, NM passed away May 29, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

"Whip" was born March 6, 1934 in San Lorenzo, NM to Francisco and Maria Rodriguez. He worked at Chino Mines for 32 years before retiring. He enjoyed ranching, hunting, camping and picnics with his family.

Federico is survived by his wife of 61 years, Erminia; three sons, Ruben Montoya (Althea) of Albuquerque, Ricardo Rodriguez of San Lorenzo and Francisco Rodriguez (Phyllis) of Lathrop, CA; four daughters, Beatrice Gonzales (Gilbert) of Silver City, Mary Helen Rodriguez of San Lorenzo, Lorraine Rodriguez of Silver City and Agatha Rodriguez of Tucson, AZ; also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Cora Salaiz and Esther Rodriguez of Silver City; a special cousin Domingo Misquez of Deming.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Manuel Rodriguez; four sisters, Ascencion Placencio, Lucinda Martinez, Lucia Holguin and Julia Parra.

Visitation will take place on Friday, June 2, 2017 at five o'clock in the evening at Baca's Funeral Chapels. The Prayer Vigil and Rosary will follow at six o'clock in the evening. Officiating will be Deacon Bill Holguin. The Funeral Liturgy will be Saturday, June 3, 2017 at nine o'clock in the morning at the San Lorenzo Catholic Church. Concluding services and burial will follow at San Lorenzo Cemetery. Officiating will be Father Francisco Diaz.

Serving as pallbearers will be Aaron Gonzales, Jacob Villegas, Johnny, Gabriel and Antonio Rodriguez and Juanito Zapata. Honorary pallbearers will be his remaining grandchildren, Domingo Misquez and Manuel "Chickie" Galaz.
