Monty Wilson rsMonty Ray Wilson said adios to this world on June 3, 2017. He spent his final days surrounded by his loving family in his home, the one with the best view of Pinos Altos.

A hard worker and ingenious thinker, Monty could build and fix most anything. If he felt it wasn't worth fixing, thankfully most replacements were only an Amazon Prime order away. One only has to look at the back patio constructed with several tons of I-beams to see his philosophy of how if something was worth building, it was worth over building. (He told us just a few days ago that you could park a backhoe on it and frankly, we believe it).

He claimed to be one of the smartest men to have ever lived simply because he found a once-in-a-lifetime love very early and never looked back. Monty and Almie spent 48 years in the type of love people look for their entire lives and never find. We should all hope to be so lucky.

They traveled extensively with their daughter Kelly and later on, with grandson Chase. They enjoyed the wilds of North America and made many great memories with friends from around the world. A favorite of his was Alaska. Every summer for over 30 years, they would make the trip up, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Without much prompting, Monty would tell his great Alaskan tales. From photographing the wild bears of Hyder to watching a young Chase reel in fish bigger than him, you were instantly transported to places Monty hoped everyone could visit.

His advice for life was simple: stick to your word and think more of your spouse than you do of yourself.

Though his departure leaves us with a void nothing will ever fill, there is great comfort in knowing that he passed from this life exactly the way he wanted. His loyal, loving and hard working spirit will be carried on by his wife Almie, his grandson and his wife, Chase and Oly and his two little partners Law and Orion. On his request, there will be no services held.

Until we meet again Papa.
