Mary J. Garcia, 83, was delivered into the hands of the Lord on June 8, 2017 while surrounded by loved ones.

She was a beloved Wife, Mom, Aunt, and Sister who touched many lives and hearts. Her family always came first.

Mary was born and raised in Quemado, New Mexico. She spoke of many fond memories of her youth there. She made many sacrifices throughout her life in the name of love for her family.

She was very proud of her attendance at Western New Mexico University but decided that raising a family was what she wanted most.

During the later years of her life, Mary enjoyed traveling with her sons in the states of Texas, Washington, and Florida.

Mary is survived by three brothers; Arcenio, Alejandro, and Candelario Chavez. Two sisters; Priscilla Stahl and Gloria Moor. Five children; Danny (Tiffany) Garcia, Bernadette (Leslie) Imboden, Dave (Sid) Garcia, Sam (Steven) Garcia, and Lorraine (Mick) Zunich. Nine grandchildren; John, Cathie (Tara), Cassandra (J.T.), Cari (Chance), Jake, Sammi Jo, Cayla, Patrick (Rachel), Jessica (John). 8 great grandchildren; Joseph, Jason, Mersadies, Xander, Gavin, Allison, Paige, and Zoe. Mary is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceeded in death by her parents, Pedro and Josephine Chavez; three brothers: Pete, Eustacio, and Santiago; four sisters: Emma, Connie, Margaret, and Stella; her husband of 61 years, Elias Garcia Jr.; her baby, Pedro Garcia; grandson Michael Lee Garcia; and great granddaughter Angel Ortega.

Visitation will be on Friday, June 16, 2017 from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm, followed by a rosary at 6:30 pm being recited by Father Oliver Obele at Terrazas Funeral Chapel. Funeral services officiated by Father Oliver will be celebrated at Terrazas Funeral Chapel on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 10 am with burial following at St. Vincent Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Danny Garcia, Sam Callaway-Garcia, Steven Garcia-Calloway, Mick Zunich, John Richardson, and Joseph Garcia. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jake Zunich, Patrick Garcia, Jason Garcia, Sadie Ortega, Cayla Zunich, Sammi Jo Zunich, Cathie Zimmerman, Jessica Hernandez, Cari Powell, and Cassandra Garcia. Mary (Mom, Nanna, Auntie, Sister) was very loved and will be forever missed.
