Amelia Sena Marquez, 88, a longtime resident of Lordsburg passed away Monday June 19, 2017 at her home with her family at her side.

A prayer vigil will be this Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 10:30 in the morning at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Alice Ramirez leading the rosary. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 o'clock with Fr. Jude Okonkwo, Pastor officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery.

Amelia was born December 6, 1928 in Montoya, New Mexico to Manuel and Lucianna (Guana) Sena. She came to Lordsburg in 1964 having previously lived in Tombstone, Arizona. She was a homemaker and it was important to her to always keep her house clean and tidy. Amelia enjoyed dancing and especially loved being with her family and her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

She is survived by her daughter, LouAnne Gallegos and her husband Ernest "Chico" Gallegos of Lordsburg; sons, Larry Marquez and his wife Katrina, Eloy "Junebug" Marquez all of Lordsburg, and Leo Marquez and his wife Lourdes of Deming; 16 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Amelia was preceded in death by her husband Eloy Marquez, daughter JoAnn Marquez, and son Steve R. Marquez.

Pallbearers will be Ernest Gallegos Jr., Andrew Gallegos, Joseph Gallegos, Bryan Marquez, Leopoldo "Leo" Marquez Jr., Steve Marquez Jr., Ernest Manuel Gallegos and Jordan Marquez. Honorary bearers are Manuel Lopez and Zoe Gallegos.
