socorro trejo rsSocorro "Granny" G. Trejo, 87, of Silver City entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones.

Socorro was born on January 26, 1930, to Senovio and Teresa Garcia in Silver City. She made Silver City her home. Socorro enjoyed dancing and listening to her music as well as keeping up with the latest "chisme". Her biggest joy was spending time with family and friends especially her pride and joys, Eric Robert and Jojo whom she loved to spoil. She was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.

Socorro is survived by one daughter Sylvia Escobar (Robert) of Silver City; nieces Priscilla Blea, Lupe Duarte (David), Esperanza Hartl, and Teresa Carbajal; five grandchildren Ray Duran, Efrem Duran, Teresa Escobar (fiancée Raul Varela), Lucinda Escobar (Eric Valencia), and Bobbie Jean Escobar; five great-grandchildren Eric Robert Valencia, Joseph Valencia, Raymond Duran, Lexis Valenzuela and Isis Valenzuela, a son-in-law Sonny Duran; goddaughter Tracy Martin (Patrick).

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Efren Trejo, her brother Baltazar Mendoza, her daughter Yoli Duran, and her son Ray Trejo.

A Prayer Vigil and Rosary will take place on Thursday, August 3, 2017, at 11 AM at Baca's Funeral Chapels with a Funeral Service to follow. Concluding the services will be her burial at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery. Officiating will be Deacon Bill Holguin.

Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Escobar, Eric Robert Valencia, Eric Valencia, Efrem Duran, Joseph "Jojo" Valencia, Raymond Duran and "Sonny" Duran.
