Henry Rodriguez, 81, a resident of Mimbres, NM entered eternal rest Friday, November 10, 2017 at his residence.

He was born January 31, 1936 in Los Angeles, CA to Ramon and Juanita Vasquez Rodriguez. His paternal grandparents Manuel and Mariana Barrera raised him.

He attended Lorena St. School, Stevenson Jr. High and Roosevelt High School. In 1956, Henry and his lifetime friend Joe Manzano joined the U.S. Army on the Buddy system. They both became paratroopers; Henry going on to serve in Lebanon, Panama and stationed in Germany until his discharge in 1959.

After coming home, while working at Pacific Moulded Products in Vernon, CA, he met his future wife Refugia Gonzalez. They married on September 15, 1962 and went on to have three children; Yolanda Reynaga of Mimbres, Maria Aquino of Murrieta, CA, and Richard Rodriguez (Veronica) of Maywood, CA; six grandchildren, Jenifer, Jessica, and Denise Reynaga; Benjamin Rodriguez, Alyssa and Caitlin Aquino. This year, 2017 he became a great grandfather to a great grandson, Vincent Grazziani.

In life, Henry was an avid outdoorsman. He was also a man who could fix anything from the brakes on cars to the kitchen sink. He was a gifted woodworker and made many beautiful and useful pieces of furniture for family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandson; three sisters, Rachel Silos (Manuel) of Montebello, CA; Yolanda Tratta (Joe) of Burbank, CA; and Anita Palmer of NJ; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by both his grandparents and his mother.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 16 from 5-6pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the holy rosary to begin at 6pm with Deacon Richard Rodriguez reciting. The funeral liturgy will celebrated on Friday, November 17 at 9:30am at Our Lady of Fatima Church with Father Abraham Soliz officiating. Concluding service and interment will follow with full military honors at Fort Bayard National Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Macario Sanchez, David Gonzales, Bobby Espinoza, Salvador Espinoza, Richard Rodriguez, and Eric Grazziani.
