Gary Barrios Placencio Jr., 23, a resident of Bayard, NM entered eternal rest Thursday, January 11, 2018 at University Medical Center in El Paso, TX.

He was born April 4, 1994 in Silver City, NM to Gary Placencio Sr. and Argelia Barrios.

Gary will be remembered as a kind person, beautiful personality and had a big heart. He was an organ donor who was able to save four lives with his passing.

He had talent, being a good artist and loved sports. He played baseball and basketball. He was an avid Oakland Raiders fan. He also loved being outdoors, camping and fishing. He liked listening to Bob Marley and old school music.

Gary loved to eat nachos, cheesecake and chili-spicy foods. He will always be remembered playing around with his cousins and uncles; always smiling and joking.

He is survived by his mother, Argelia Barrios and companion Richard M. Rodriguez of Bayard; his biological father, Gary Placencio Sr., of Hurley; his step-father, Johnny Tafoya of Silver City; his companion, Bodika L. Marin of Silver City; one son, Jaeden Padilla of Silver City; three brothers, Anthony Barrios and companion Andrea Gomez of Silver City; Cruz Angel Placencio and wife Esperanza of Silver City; Johnny Ray Tafoya Jr. of Bayard; two nephews, Emmanuel and Cruz Jr., Biological Paternal grandmother, Esther Rios Castillo; step-grandparents, John and Susan Tafoya; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his biological paternal grandfather, Albert Placencio; biological maternal grandmother, Ana Maria Padilla.

The visitation will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 10-11 am at Terrazas Funeral Chapels. The holy rosary will follow at 11 am with Dr. Gilbert Arizaga reciting. Cremation will follow at Terrazas Crematory.
