sergio davalos rsSurrounded by his loving family, Sergio Victor Davalos passed away at the age of 90 years on February 10, 2018.

Born in Jerez, Zacatecas Mexico, he made his life in New Mexico where he met Maria Jesus (Susie) Chavez. He was a bracero, a baker, a shop owner, construction worker, supervisor and teacher. His life goal was for his children to be the best educated they could be. A true embodiment of the American dream, he worked throughout the Southwest, Arkansas, and Mississippi. However, he always considered Deming, New Mexico his home.

He impacted his community and family through his love and generosity of spirit. Many a neighbor, friend, and colleague speaks of his acts of kindness and caring. He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church where he loved to volunteer countless hours.

He will lovingly be remembered by his wife of 70 years, Susie Davalos, his brother, Edgar Davalos, his sister, Delia Ramirez, and his children, Sergio Davalos Jr (Sierra), Albert Davalos (Adriana), Mary Monjaras (David), John Davalos (Ana), Rick Davalos (Laura), Renee Lopez (Martin), Lorraine Strosnider (Patrick), Debbie Mirabal (Mark), Tyler Lopez (grand SON), his 31 grandkids, and 42 great grandkids and 2 great great grandkids.

The viewing will be held at 4pm on Monday 12, 2018 and the Rosary at 6PM on Monday 12, 201 8 at Baca's Funeral Chapels, 811 S Gold Ave. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 13, at 11:00 AM at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 400 S Ruby St. Interment will follow at the Mountain View Cemetery, 3410 E. Pine Street.

Pallbearers are Miguel, Alejandro and Isaac Davalos, Rick Davalos Jr., Derrick and Tyler Lopez, Julian Monjaras and Chipper Campos.

Honorary pallbearers are Tony Ruiz, Pablo D'Andrea, Isidro Madrid, Fred Pacheco and Rito Escareno.
