jose lopez old rsjose lopez young rsJose Reyes Lopez, 89, of Santa Rita entered eternal rest on Monday, February 12, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Jose was born on January 6, 1929 in Santa Rita to Francisco Lopez and Jesusita Cabello.

He served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corp and upon returning home, he worked and retired from Kennecott Copper Mines.

Jose was a communicant of Roman Catholic Church in Hanover. He loved the outdoors, camping, hunting, fishing and picking pinon. Jose enjoyed spending time with his family, the family gatherings, and going to casinos.

Jose is survived by his sons, Antonio Lopez (Rebecca) and Jose Lopez Jr. (Irma); daughters, Gloria Sias (Rey), Lupe Lopez and Reina Arrey (Eddie); brothers, Paz Lopez (Rosie) and Remijo Lopez; sister, Clara Horcasitas (Ray); 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances; parents, Francisco and Jesusita Lopez; and his son, Patrick Lopez.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at five o'clock in the evening at Baca's Funeral Chapels with the Prayer Vigil and Rosary to follow at six o'clock with Dr. Gilbert Arizaga, reciting. The Funeral Liturgy will be on Friday, February 16, 2018 at ten o'clock in the morning at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Bayard with Father Abraham Solis officiating. Concluding Services and Burial will be at Lopez Family Cemetery in Hanover where he will be laid to rest next to his wife Frances.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tony Lopez, Rey Sias, Art Luna, Eddie Arrey, Diego Lopez and Jose R. Lopez Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be all his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
