catalina rodriguez rsHeaven gained our special angel on April 26, 2018. Catalina Rodriguez of Deming, NM, left this world to reunite with family and friends that have gone before her. As she started her final journey home, she was surrounded by those who loved her. She was 74 years old.

Catalina was born in Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico on April 30, 1943 to Francisco Guzman and Guadalupe Valenzuela. Her mother later married Emilio Chavez who raised her and her siblings as his own in Cd. Obregon, Sonora, Mexico. In 1961 she married Theodore Jacobson and moved to Port Angeles, WA. where the family lived for many years before moving to Deming, NM. She divorced after 20 years of marriage and seven kids. In 1984 she was given a second chance at love and married Ramon Rodriguez.

Catalina worked hard all her life, first as a wife, mother, and homemaker. She also held various positions throughout her life, including owning a thrift store in Las Cruces and working at the Deming Senior's Center. After retirement she enjoyed traveling, bargain shopping, and watching her favorite telenovelas and game shows. She loved going to the casino, especially when she hit the jackpot on a slot machine. Those who had the privilege of knowing her loved her. She will be greatly missed by all. She will forever be remembered for her beautiful smile, loving heart, generosity, and positive attitude. Her family will miss her cooking, particularly her delicious tacos and caldos.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 34 years, Ramon Rodriguez; her children, Marianne Young of Phoenix, AZ, Michael Jacobson (Angela), Mark Jacobson (Susan), Morris Jacobson (Naomi) all of Forks, WA, Martin Jacobson (Angela) of Ellensburg, WA, Marcia Ortiz (David) of Burlington, NC, Marilyn Crawford (Derrick) of Las Cruces, NM, and step-daughter Veliamar Rodriguez (Gennaro) of Lubbock, TX; her twenty seven grandchildren; her twelve great-grandchildren; her three sisters and two brothers of Sonora, Mx, and two sisters of CA.

We will miss you Mama. We love you forever, like you for always, as long as we're living our Mama you'll be.
