mendoza 02On November 18, 2018 Amelia Baeza – Mendoza went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ and to rejoin her husband Tony Mendoza.  Amelia was born to Luis and Maria Baeza on February 5, 1940 in Deming, NM. She was the ninth of ten children. She loved her family and that inspired her to want to be a wife and mother. She married Tony on June 15, 1957 and five children were born from that marriage.  Tony and Amelia enjoyed dancing and music. Amelia loved Christmas and always made it a special time for her family. She loved to cook so she always had a full house. Her husband and children were her life. Amelia was a loving and good daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend; most of all she was devoted to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She is survived by her son, Robert Mendoza of Choctaw, OK; two daughters, Victoria Mendoza of Santa Clara; and Frances Mendoza of Silver City; eight grandchildren, Edward and Joe Gomez of Albuquerque; Kiesha Priddey and (Shannon) of Rio Rancho, NM; Timothy Mendoza of El Paso, TX; Tanya Henson and (Matt) of Midwest City, OK; Brandon Mendoza and (Felicia) of Silver City; Stefani Mendoza and Richard Mendoza and (Christina) of Silver City; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; her companion, Aurelio Leyba; two sisters, Alice B. Vargas and husband Manuel; Jessie Alvarez all of which reside in El Paso, TX; one brother, Luis Baeza and wife Mary Ann from Ruidoso, NM and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Antonio “Tony” Mendoza; two sons, Gilbert Mendoza and Luis Mendoza; six siblings, Nena, Adelina, Chato, Rudy, Mary Lou, and Leandra.

Visitation will be Monday, November 26 from 5-6pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the holy rosary to begin at 6 p.m. The funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 27 at 10am at Terrazas Funeral Chapels.
