aragon 04 Patricia G Aragon passed away at Sunset Vista in Silver City, New Mexico on December 8, 2018 at the age of 85. Patricia was born on March 28, 1933 in Silver City, New Mexico to Gertrude Gonzales. She attended Western New Mexico University where she received her Bachelor’s and Master Degrees in education. Patricia began her teaching experience with the Grants Municipal School District before returning home to teach in the Silver Consolidated School District where she taught at the La Plata Middle School. Patricia was a member of the NEA, NMEA, and SCEA organizations. She was also a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority and the Kapa Kappa Lota Sorority.

Patricia truly loved her life with Manny in Silver City and the lifelong friends that they made. She served her community throughout her life in many ways. Patricia was a woman of faith, family and love.  She was proud of her children and grandchildren.

Patricia was preceded in death by her loving husband Manny Aragon of 61 years, her sister Epifania Correa, her brother James Gonzales and her sister Ernestina Sanchez, brother-in-law Albert Correa.  

Patricia is survived by her three children and their spouses, Kathryn Ward and husband Mike, Steve Aragon and wife Cindy and Rodney Aragon and wife Valerie. Grandchildren are Matthew Ward, Eric Aragon, Keanna Ward, Justice Aragon, Aaron Aragon and Jason Aragon and many nieces and nephews and godchildren. Patricia is also survived by her brother David Gonzales, sister-in-law Dolores Gonzales, sister-in-law Yolanda Gonzales and brother-in-law Narciso Sanchez.

The prayer vigil will begin at 9:00 a.m on Monday, December 17, 2018 at St. Francis Newman Center Catholic Church in Silver City, New Mexico with Father Ezenwelem Bartholomew officiating. Concluding service and inurnment will follow at Ft. Bayard National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her husband Manny.

The family of Patricia Aragon would like to thank the staff of Sunset Vista in Silver City for the loving care and kindness they provided our mom over the past 5 years under their care.
