richardson 01Ronda Leona Richardson, 69, a resident of Silver City, NM died suddenly on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at her residence. She was born May 16, 1950 in Silver City, NM to Charles and Pearl Walter. On March 21, 1969, Ronda married Acel Bernard Richardson Jr (Sonny). They just celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary with their family. Ronda grew up in Lordsburg, New Mexico where she graduated in 1968 from Lordsburg High. She attended NMSU in Las Cruces, New Mexico. After her youngest started school, she went to work for the Silver Consolidated School District as a substitute teacher. She got an associate degree from WNMU and taught as an assistant Title One Teacher. After 15 years she retired from teaching. Ronda enjoyed painting, reading, and crafts. She enjoyed playing with her grandkids and always looked forward to spending time with her family. Ronda always put everyone before herself. Her number one goal in life was to make everyone feel loved. She was our “Unsung Hero”.

She is survived by her mother, Pearl Walter of West Jordan, UT; her husband Bernard Richardson Jr. her seven children and their spouses, Julie (Richardson) and Brad Peterson, Scott and April (Wing) Richardson, Stacy (Richardson) and Jason Kupiec, Heather (Richardson) and Clint Tregaskes, Hollie (Richardson) and Preston Thomson, Davin Richardson and fiancé Jessica Gannon, Daron and Allison (Copler) Richardson; twenty-four grandchildren; Katelyn, Nathan, Samantha, Jacob, Zachary, Tanner, Jolei, Alayna, Joseph, Emma, Olivia, Sarah, Sophia, Adelynn, Kennedy, Smith, Joseph, Thurston, Aleah, Delilah, Violet, Natally, Corey, Sharley, one great-grandson; Ryker, her brothers and their spouses, Charles Walter Jr. and wife Lorrie (Jarvis); Keith Allen and wife Pat (Casey) Walter; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Walter Sr., grandparents, Lola (Johnson) and George Hammond, Ena (Richins) and Charles Walter and grandson Reese Richardson Jr. Visitation will be Saturday, August 24 from 10-11am at The Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints located at 3755 North Swan Street, Silver City, NM with the funeral service to begin at 11am with Bishop Zollinger officiating. Concluding service and interment will follow at Memory Lane where family will dedicate the grave. In lieu of flowers and donations may be sent to Terrazas Funeral Chapels who has been entrusted with her care.
