edwinacainEdwina Ward Cain (Winnie) of Silver City, NM, passed away August 17, 2022, at Millie's Assisted Living. She was born in Silver City on May 4, 1932, to Edward and Clara Ward.

Winnie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lowell, in 2020.

Winnie and Lowell met while attending school in Illinois and were married on June 18, 1953. They then moved to California and after their first child was born they moved back to Silver City where they lived and worked in insurance and real estate for the next 26 years. They moved to Las Cruces, NM, in 1983, where they continued their business until retiring in 2012 and moving to Cliff, NM to be near family.

Winnie is survived by her three children, Corby Cain of Monument, CO; Julie Means (Clay) of Buckhorn, NM; and Scott Cain of El Paso, TX. Five grandchildren who lovingly called her Boomer, Jeremy DeLoach (Sandra); Joshua DeLoach; Chelsea Shock (Brian); Shalako Bradberry (Beau); and Chance Means (Shanna).  She is also greatly loved by her eight great grandchildren, Brennan, Bryson and Cambree Shock; Treven DeLoach, Mason DeLoach, Crossyn Means, and BayJ and Arlo Bradberry.

The family would like to thank the staff of Millie's Assisted Living for the kind and compassionate care they provided during Winnie's residency.

Services have been postponed due to Road Closures caused by severe flooding. Memorial Service has been rescheduled to Tuesday, August 30 at 10:00am at Terrazas Funeral Chapel in Santa Clara.
