Gilbert Sanchez Flores, Jr. (Flako), 35, of Silver City passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023. 

“Flako” as he was affectionately known, was born in Pima, Arizona to Gilbert Flores and Terry Sanchez. He grew up in Silver City and enjoyed the outdoors, spending quality time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed listening to music and drawing. Flako was known for his unique whistle. If you knew Gilbert, you would know he was close by just the echo of his whistle. We will miss his smile and his sense of humor.

He leaves behind his daughter, Aarinn Skye Flores; his companion, Patricia (his almond joy); and his daughter, Dani Rae. His “mother of pearl”, Terry Sanchez (Dave Garcia); three sisters, Tina Marie (Adam), Amy Rae (Andres) and Megan Flores, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert Grado Flores, Sr, his paternal grandparents, Millie and Maxx Flores, his maternal grandparents, Maxilliano and Mariana Sanchez; his special aunties and uncles, Max Sanchez, Toby Sanchez, Manny Madrid, Mickey Grado, Sr, Ronnie Acosta, Cynthia Herrera and Sharron Ortega.

Gilbert will be greatly missed and never forgotten, we love you Flako.
