SosayaMMariano Garcia Sosaya, 72, a resident of Bayard, NM entered eternal rest Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Gila Regional Medical Center.  He was born April 22, 1951 in Santa Rita to Mariano L. and Nellie Garcia Sosaya.

Mariano loved spending time with his family. He loved fishing with his brothers and competing for the size and amount of fish caught. He enjoyed talking with everyone he came into contact with and made friends everywhere he went. He was such a people person and enjoyed making people laugh with his jokes. He enjoyed talking about working at Tyrone and Chino Mines as a shovel operator. He had the best stories of the awesome people he worked with. San Francisco 49ers, Atlanta Braves, and the San Antonio Spurs were his favorite sports teams and loved watching them play. He worked on cars most of his life and just wanted to help others get their vehicles running. Mariano's favorite time was cruising with his wife Viola for an ice cream or getting her a diet coke. He was the best dad always helping his daughter Cynthia and son Andrew. His world got even better when his granddaughter Anita was born. His mission changed and focused all his time, making sure Anita was ready for the world. Mariano took care of everyone in his life until the end. He will be missed by so many people. Mariano was a family man and will always be remembered as being the best Husband, best Father, and best Grandfather to his family.

He is survived by one son, Andrew Sosaya (fiancé Ferndale Mann) of Albuquerque; one daughter, Cynthia Sosaya of Bayard; one granddaughter, Anita Mariana Sosaya (Anthony Gomez) of Hurley; three brothers, Johnny G. Sosaya (Lucy) of Santa Clara; Robert G. Sosaya (Patsy) of Santa Clara; Richard G.
