Eloy Procopio Lopez, Jr. passed away on October 16, 2023 at Ft. Bayard Medical Center in Ft. Bayard, NM. He was born on July 20, 1942 in San Antonio, NM.

He is survived by his children Randy L. (Jessica) Lopez, and Mary Jo Valdez; and their mother Hortencia Melendrez; grandchildren Jocelyn Nicole Valdez, Joseph (Zuleika) Lopez, Jasmine Jade Valdez, Leroy Valdez; Ricardo Lopez, Viviana Lopez, Jude Lopez, Zakiah Morales, and Emmi Lanae Lopez. Great-grandchildren Santiago Chavez, Eastonn and Zealand Lopez, Camila Rose Chavez and Adriel Padilla; one brother, Joe Lopez; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Eloy "Jr." was known to always be groomed "to the nines". He smiled regardless of any circumstances he faced and his happiness was genuine, as was his loyalty. He loved drinking "pop" and smoke breaks.  
He is preceded in death by his parents, Procopio and Ella Lopez; brothers Selso, Felix, Bascilio, and Dennis Lopez; sisters Patricia Rodriguez and Teresa Rodriguez; and son-in-law Gabriel A. Valdez.
