Armando Tavizon, 63, a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest Monday, October 9, 2023 at his residence.  He was born on April 23, 1960 to his parents, Ramon and Mary (Madrid) Tavizon in Silver City, NM. 

Armando graduated from Silver High School in 1979.  After high school he was self-employed and stayed busy with various jobs.  Armando moved to Ohio in 1985 where he quickly began his career in the Correctional Field and also with Haz-Mat.  Armando lived in Columbus, Ohio and worked many years with the Department of Corrections where he retired.   In 2012, Armando moved back home to Silver City.  He quickly became employed with Gila Regional Medical Center as a Security Guard.  Armando then found his "perfect" job again with Hidalgo County Detention Center in 2019.  He worked his way up to Sergeant and remained a supervisor.  Armando considered his co-workers and supervisor his second family as he lived & respected them very much.  Armando married the absolute "love of his life" Julia Forlizzo Tavizon on October 29, 2018.  Armando worked hard, loved his wife, his family, his dog Bertie and his cat Sylvester.  Armando will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

 
He is survived by his wife of the family home; his two brothers, Luis Tavizon of Silver City, NM and Ray Tavizon (Peggy) of Silver City, NM; his sister Lisa Tavizon of Silver City, NM and his numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Alfredo “Freddie” Tavizon. 
 

The family has chosen to not hold a service at this time.
