VaughanTThomas Michael Vaughan born April 6, 1954 in Santa Rita, New Mexico was called to his Divine Appointment with our Savior on Thursday, November 30, 2023.  He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Franklin, his mother, Flossie Jewel, his brothers, Tommy Dee, Stanley Ray, Teddy Floyd, and his sister, Billie Maxine, as well as his two brothers in-law, Thomas William and Jim Moore.  He leaves behind his wife, Geri, three sons, Paul and his wife Amy, Jeremy and his wife Victoria, and Daniel and his wife Lydia, and his six grandchildren; Tomas, Zalia, Osias, Tommy, Caleb, and Liam.

Mike was married 49 years ago to Geri Lynn on October 28, 1974 and raised their three sons.  Mike lived to see all of his sons married, raising children, and serving twenty year careers in the New Mexico State Police.  The greatest gift Mike gave to his three sons was to tell them of the grace, sovereignty, and love of God and His Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior.

Mike was raised in Hurley and lived in Mimbres for 42 years.  He worked at the Chino Mine for 33 years before retiring and taking on several other tasks such as fire chief of the Upper and Lower Mimbres Fire Departments.  He was a founding member and elder at Grace Bible Fellowship, a fellowship where believers were afforded the opportunity to hear the unadulterated gospel of our Sovereign Lord and His desire to have His adopted sons and daughters molded into the image of His perfect Son.

Mike was a simple man, raising his sons to be more and do more than he did, insisting that they go to college and better themselves.  He was severely concerned with the atonement of his sin in the death of his Savior at Calvary, the glory of God in Christ Jesus, and the eternal destination of those around him.

2 Samuel 7:18b-22

“Who am I, Lord [g]God, and who are the members of my household, that You have brought me this far? 19 And yet this was insignificant in Your eyes, Lord God, for You have spoken also of the house of Your servant regarding the distant future. And this is the [h]custom of mankind, Lord God. 20 Again what more can David say to You? For You know Your servant, Lord God! 21 For the sake of Your word, and according to Your heart, You have done all this greatness, to let Your servant know. 22 For this reason You are great, Lord God; for there is no one like You, and there is no God except You, according to all that we have heard with our ears.”

Visitation will be Saturday, December 9th at 9:30-10am at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the funeral service to commence at 10am with his son, Jeremy Di Vaughan officiating.

Pallbearers are Paul, Jeremy, and Daniel Vaughan, Miguel Rosales, Karl Hardin, and Paulo Ventri.
