Horacio Villegas, Jr., 49, a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Gila Regional Medical Center in Silver City, NM. 

Horacio also known as Jr was born and raised in Silver City. Since childhood, he had a charisma that always attracted a multitude of friends. He was loved by everyone and was most known for his joking personality. He always had a way of making you laugh. He had a heart of gold. He was kind hearted and caring. He was a loving father and grandfather. His hobbies included riding his bike and cutting wood and jamming out to his favorite Mexican music. There are no words to explain how much he will be missed, but draw comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering.

He is survived by his parents, Horacio and Anjelina “Angie” Villegas of the family home; his sons, Brandon Villegas of Silver City; Steven Ortega of Morenci, AZ; his daughter, Alexis Hernandez of Silver City; six grandchildren; his brother, Carlos Villegas and wife Lydia of Silver City; his sisters, Maria Elena Villegas and husband Antonio of  Delicias, Chihuahua, Mexico; Patrica Lewis; he is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be Friday, December 29th from 9:30-10am at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the holy rosary to commence at 10am with Deacon Art Gutierrez reciting.  The funeral mass will follow at 11:30am at St. Francis Newman Center with Father Pio-Anthony Okafer officiating.  Concluding service and interment will take place at Memory Lane cemetery.  Pallbearers are Harley Lewis, Matthew Villegas, Dean Carrasco, James Melendrez, Robert Jasso, and David Vega Sr.
